Adult Development and Aging 9th Edition by John C. Cavanaugh

Overview

Written within a bio-psychosocial framework, Cavanaugh's bestselling ADULT DEVELOPMENT AND AGING, 9th edition, covers the specific ages-stages of adult development and aging. Written by a well-known researcher and academic, the book integrates unparalleled coverage of current research and theory. Its focus on "positive aging" and the research and application underlying the balance of gains and losses people experience across adulthood distinguishes it from other texts. The 9th edition features a reframed emphasis on sociocultural forces impacting development, discusses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on adult development and aging, and examines how technology increases the likelihood of aging in place. Boxed features point out controversial issues about chapter concepts to promote critical thinking, illustrate aging principles through real-life examples and connect research to current social policy.
