Kalyan Chatterjea

Kalyan Chatterjea started his career as a sea-going engineer and sailed for eleven years rising to the rank of Chief Engineer. After years of active involvement in the maritime industry, He taught at the Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA) for nearly twenty years teaching various maritime subjects on engine, as well as deck side, after which he joined Malaysian Maritime Academy in Malaysia as Head of Research. He is presently working as an academic consultant at EMAS Training Academy and Simulation Centre, Singapore, where he is actively engaged in course development.

Capt. Alex G. Labor

Capt. Alex G. Labor is a Master Mariner who started his sailing career as a cadet on cargo and passenger ships. After leaving sea,he started working ashore in various capacities and roles starting as a marine and safety superintendent, until finally leaving as ageneral manager of an offshore vessel ship management company. He is a certified ISM, ISPS and QMS auditor and an IMO modelcourse trainer, and is presently working as a senior instructor at the EMAS Training Academy and Simulation Centre, where heteaches ship handling and voyage management, and shallow and deep water anchor handling.

Francisco J. Vidal

Capt. Francisco J. Vidal started sailing as cadet in October 1978, sailing for a number of years on container vessels, bulk carriers andchemical tankers. He works in several locations around the world, and is involved in different project for underwater construction,diving and ROV support. He was seconded to the EMAS Training Academy and Simulation Centre for developing courseware fordynamic positioning and ship-handling. He is a Certified Simulator Trainer in accordance with the requirements of Sections A-I/6and A-I/12 of the STCW 95. Presently he is working offshore in an advisory Captain’s role for the Dynamic Positioning OperationsAssurance.
