Overview

Fitness Trainer Essentials, 4e has been written for students undertaking the SIS40221 Certificate IV in Fitness qualification, studying to become personal fitness trainers. The text contains all core and popular elective units to support a range of fitness specialisations. Fitness Trainer Essentials, 4e provides the knowledge to support students to be able to develop, instruct and evaluate personalised exercise programs for generally healthy and low risk clients, and to achieve specific fitness goals. With new and improved images, charts and diagrams, this new edition is the most comprehensive text reflecting current industry standards and practices. As with the previous edition, Fitness Trainer Essentials, 4e assumes that the reader has acquired the Certificate III in Fitness qualification and therefore the Fitness Trainer Essentials, 4e is used as an advancement on the Certificate III in Fitness qualification.

Tony Attridge

Tony Attridge is a qualified Exercise Physiologist, Sports Psychologist, ISSN Nutritionist, Level 3 Strength and Conditioning Coach, Level 2 Altitude Training Coach and a qualified teacher. Tony has trained athletes at every Olympic Games since 1992, as well as Commonwealth Games and other elite athletes and fitness and bodybuilding competitors. Tony owns an RTO and has lectured at university level. Besides running his own RTO, Tony has also completed his eMBA and trains and assesses Certificate III, IV and Diploma of Fitness and Business courses throughout Queensland.

Martin Felice

Martin Felice is a qualified exercise physiologist, soft tissue therapist, sports coach and high school teacher. For over a decade Martin was an integral member of the medical team at Football Federation Australia. As a business proprietor in exercise physiology, personal training and soft tissue therapy, Martin is able to share many of his tips and strategies for personal training and business operations.

Kirsten Fagan

Kirsten Fagan is Head of Department - Lifestyle and Tourism and Events at Holmesglen TAFE. Kirsten has been a personal trainer for the past 15 years, and had a professional basketball career within Australia, Europe and USA. Kirsten has also lectured in Universities, RTOs and TAFEs in Australia, and the USA.
