LEARNING PATH
Introductory Activity. At the start of each chapter, students complete a short activity written specifically to get them engaged in the material prior to the reading. Through self-assessments and reflection questions students are immediately able to interact with the material in new and interesting ways.
Video Activity. Students view professional interviews, simulated sessions, and more as they progress through the course. Students are prompted to answer embedded questions as they watch each video. The video activities feature the Dr. Corey’s lecturettes, the Case of Stan, and video Q&As with experts in the field.
Discussion Activity. Discussion questions in each chapter allow students to collaborate with their peers to develop solutions and responses in an online environment.
Exercises. Students are asked a series of questions and depending on how they respond, they will reach different outcomes. This exercise is aimed at getting them to think critically about Case of Gwen discussed within the chapters.
Case Studies. Case studies give students the opportunity to practice and develop the concepts discussed within the chapters.
Helper Studio. This video-based activity puts students directly in the role of helping professional. Students respond to clients with recorded video responses that demonstrate important skills and confidence necessary for success in the profession. This activity features the Case of Ruth.
